A mixture of polymer binders and calibrated sand

What it is used for

A mixture of polymer binders and calibrated sand to be used for natural stone paving joints. With the addition of water it hardens, blocks paving gaps and seals leaks, prevents weed growth and the depletion of the joints (due to rainfall, wind and frost). It is ideal for the edges of swimming pools, access ramps to garages and sloping surfaces. The paving must be laid on a drainage bed of sand or gravel. It must not be used with sand and cement paving.

How to use the product

Fill the joints with Softfuga under the following conditions: dry pavement, empty joints and slopes of at least 1 cm per metre (1%). Remove excess particles from the flooring, keeping the level of Softfuga in the joints 3 mm below the surface of the paving. Sprinkle water into the sand filled joints (without overflowing or without using pressurized water) until the water is retained in the joints (about 30 seconds). Do not walk on the paving for at least 4 hours. Do not apply it in the following circumstances: at temperatures below 0 °C on wet surfaces. If rain is expected within 3 hours, do not use Softfuga. Do not use it if the paving has been laid on concrete or non-draining material, or with a layer of drainage material of less than 15 cm, or with an insufficient slope for water drainage (both surface and background).

Consumption

Indicative yield of 3-4 kg per m2 (for type 8/10 cm size cubes), for variable tiles depending on the size of the joints and of the inert materials used to saturate them.

Bedding

splitflex or natural stone gravel with a grain size of 3/6, sandflex
